Georgian Bay (southern portion)

Blue Willow at Henry's
After completing the famous Trent Severn Waterway, we headed into the Georgian Bay.  Many Loopers head to Midland.  We elected to travel a bit north to near Penetaguishene. There are several large marinas in that area, we stayed at Beacon Bay Marina inside a nicely protected bay.  After securing our lines we had a docktail.  It did not take long before we met an unexpected couple that we became friends with a Trawlerfest Baltimore in 2013, Alex and Linda Baetek, who plan to do the loop soon (right?).  We had a wonderful visit.

We departed early to make it into the "Small Boat Route" of the Georgian Bay.  This route is famous for its sights, it is well marked, even with small markers that you cannot see any closer that a half mile without binoculars.

A famous stop in this area is Henry's.  This place can only be accessed by boat or float plane.  We had a great dinner.

Ahhhhh...   Speechless

We then proceeded to anchor at Frying Pan anchorage a very secluded anchorage that was a bit full.  But it was awesome.

After  Frying Pan we ventured up to Parry Sound.  This area is famous for its tours of the islands.  There is one tour boat that can carry over 800 passengers.  This area is really nice.
